Paediatric Speech Pathologist
Role Description:
This can be a part-time flexible role or a full-time role for a Paediatric Speech Pathologist. The role is located in Narre Warren, Victoria with opportunity for some off site work ( working from home or in schools). The Paediatric Speech Pathologist will be responsible for conducting individualised assessment and evidence-based intervention to support children with communication difficulties and their families. The Paediatric Speech Pathologist will also work collaboratively with other therapists and healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to support children with communication difficulties.
All levels of experience are encouraged to apply as we are a growing clinic looking to expand substantially. We also offer a graduate program to ease new graduates into the clinic.
Prerequisites:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Speech Pathology
Membership with Speech Pathology Australia
Eligibility for enrolment in the SPA self-regulation program to become a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with children, their families and other relevant healthcare professionals
Proficient organisational and computer skills.
A flexible approach to responsibilities of this significant role.
Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
A current drivers license.
Eligibility for Medicare provider status
Desirable experience:
Experience working with children with communication difficulties and their families
Demonstrated proficiency in administering and interpreting standardised assessments (e.g., CELF-5, PLS-5, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement collaborative treatment plans
An interest working with preschool and school age children.
An interest in supporting children on the Autism Spectrum and other developmental delays.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Assess and diagnose clients with a range of communication disorders, including developmental delays.
Treat and manage a caseload effectively and ethically.
Work in the clinic and may outsource to schools/preschools
Review clients as necessary based on individual needs.
Write reports in relation to assessments, NDIS and Medicare requirements.
Adopt a multidisciplinary approach in treating clients by working with teachers, psychologists and other health care professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients and their families.
Participate in team meetings as required and be willing to be part of a team.
Conduct telehealth consultations via Covid videoconferencing platform.
